S Voase Builders Ltd are extremely proud to have been involved as a member of the team in this project to refurbish an existing Grade II Listed farmhouse, along with conversion of an adjoining barn to create an increased living space and help create one of the most stunning properties in the area.

The farmhouse was refurbished initially to provide the Client with a living space whilst the barn conversion was undertaken.

The barn conversion entailed considerable works to bring up to liveable standards, comprising underpinning; new raft floor slabs, internal blockwork skin with insulated cavity to provide U-Values. The King post roof structure was fully preserved save for two of the Kingpost trusses which had to be replaced to create more headroom at first floor level. All sloping ceilings boarded out to keep the original main roof timbers exposed as a feature. With a first floor master bedroom area accessed via fully glazed balcony running the length of the barn all overlooking a large kitchen/dining area, the barn is a grand living space in itself.
