Beverley Friary
Client: East Riding of Yorkshire Council - YORbuild
Contract: Beverley Friary Youth Hostel Restoration
The restoration of a Grade II listed building with some areas dating back to the 13th and 14th Century. With consent from English Heritage the client East Riding of Yorkshire Council awarded our Company the £270,000 contract to refurbish the old building and give it a new lease of life as a modern well equipped youth hostel, whilst ensuring the preservation of the historic architecture. During the restoration medieval paintings were uncovered are which are now displayed as historic features on the walls of the buildings.
The Friary was an impressive project to be a part of and we were thrilled to be able to complete it ahead of schedule for the client, particularly as its challenging working in buildings so old. The completed project is amazing and in harmony with old and new.
